Mark and Susan's place is absolutely amazing! I've stayed in many Airbnbs and typically the photos make it look way nicer than it is but I can assure you that expectations will be met if not exceeded. Mark is extremely personable and you can tell he is proud of what he built. And yes he built it! The house is cozy, clean, and comfortable. Everything you need to live comfortably is provided and they are quick to respond if you need help. Wildlife is abundant and the fishing is great. I enjoyed sitting on the spacious porch in the mornings and their second story porch for sunsets. I've already referred this special place to friends and family so if your reading this review id book before someone else beats you!
We met my sister and her family this weekend at the retreat. We went into the Whitewater Center but it was a rainy weekend. The retreat offered the perfect spot to relax with the family at the end of the day. It was cozy and well appointed, the property is lovely and very private. Mark and Susan were very prompt to reply and eager to please. Definitely recommend.
Mimosa Lake Retreat was AMAZING!!! My whole family enjoyed our stay. Our children didn’t want to leave! Next time we plan to stay longer. It was so peaceful out there sitting around the fire, listening to nature, and conversing with friends and family. Mark and Susan were super accommodating and made us feel right at home! I would recommend Mimosa Lake Retreat to anyone looking for a stress-free place to getaway. You’ll soon have a chance to unwind and take in the tranquility brought about by nature and the beautiful surroundings!
Mark & Susan are great hosts. Very helpful with local recommendations for places to eat. Easy check-in and very responsive to any questions. We were in town for a wedding at The Legacy at Gregory Downs which was so close. Amazing weekend! I would highly recommend this house.

Cannot say enough good things about our experience. We were in town for my grandmother’s funeral. Mark was extremely responsive and offered his sincere condolences upon our arrival. The home is gorgeous and tranquil, with a peaceful bucolic backdrop. The outdoor picnic table overlooking the lake provided the perfect setting to gather my thoughts and write the speech that I would later give at my grandmother’s funeral. Gorgeous woodwork throughout the home as well. Highly, highly recommend!

The home was absolutely beautiful, actually looks even better in person. My family and I loved the natural lighting throughout, kitchen w/ all the accessories, pool table, outside games, the pond, fishing and firepit! Plenty of space for a family of 4. The only thing I would change is the constant communication with the host via text or in person daily. It felt like micromanaging and walking on eggshells. Other than that peace and quiet with family and nature. My husband and kids were very happy and had so much fun!
Clean, very nice, no surprises…everything we were looking for and exactly what we wanted! Mark had local eateries picked out and sorted by distance from the house. We were in the area for a wedding this time but we visit the area often and will use this property again!
